Looking back on 2023, the team at CourTex Construction is proud of the work we did to bring more pickleball courts to cities throughout the state of Texas. Here are a few of our community or public projects during the last half of the year.
Colleyville City Park
We were hired by the city of Colleyville near Fort Worth to convert a basketball court in City Park into four pickleball courts. The project included adding 10-foot fencing around the four courts, as well as four-foot fencing between the courts. Six-foot windscreens were also added. The project was completed in August, 2023.

Brookhaven Country Club, Farmers Branch
This was our biggest project of the year. CourTex was contracted to build 58 new courts for the Brookhaven Country Club in advance of their hosting of the 2023 National Pickleball Championships. The largest pickleball tournament in the country, it drew more than 4,000 professional and amateur pickleball players. For the event, CourTex converted additional tennis and padel courts for pickleball play, giving the club a total of 68 pickleball courts during the tournament.

The Austin Pickle Ranch
October 1 saw the Grand Opening of one of Austin’s newest entertainment venues—the Austin Pickle Ranch. CourTex Construction was hired to build 8 pickleball courts on the roof of a parking garage on West 6th Street. The Pickle Ranch is dedicated to “keeping pickleball weird” in keeping with its location in the heart of Austin, according to Tim Klitch, a co-founder of the venue.

Pickleball Hideout, Montgomery
The Pickleball Hideout consists of six indoor pickleball courts in the Houston metro community of Montgomery. The facility had its grand opening in December. CourTex Construction was contracted to build the courts for Pickleball Hideout. The indoor facility is unique in that it is in an air conditioned and fully secured building designed for a comfortable and safe environment for play without the need for on-site staffing.
